Students Can Still Apply: The Complete List Of Colleges With Spring 2020 Deadlines

As students across the country receive the decisions from their early applications, they might be disappointed or even slightly panicked if they don’t get the answer they wanted. Late spring is often the time to reevaluate college lists to add additional safety school applications or research last-minute financial match schools. Most universities anticipate this spring wave of applications and offer deadlines throughout the spring semester with either a late regular decision deadline or a rolling admission deadline.

Rolling admissions refer to when a college’s admissions department reviews applications as they are submitted. That means applications are evaluated on a first-come-first-serve basis, allowing you to receive admission information sooner. This admissions format is often seen in universities with large admissions departments, such as state universities.

On the other hand, a regular decision deadline, which typically occurs in January, follows a college’s Early Decision (ED) deadline. For students who have been deferred or rejected from an earlier admission round, they might be scrambling to fill out applications or feel like they have run out of options if regular decision deadlines have already passed.

Luckily, some schools offer late-season admission deadlines in March or later. Universities that offer regular decision deadlines in March or have rolling admissions are good options if you are still looking for your home next school year.

Here are some colleges that you can apply to in March or later.

  • Flagler College. Students seeking warmth and an experience surrounded by history should look no further than Flagler College in sunny St. Augustine, Florida. Minutes from incredible beaches, Flagler College is situated at the heart of the historic, bustling tourist town of St. Augustine, the oldest city in the United States and also the site of the historic 17th-century Spanish stone fortress Castillo de San Marcos. The college campus itself is a southern movie set come to life, and within walking distance of some of the best shopping experiences in Florida.
  • Austin College. Known for an emphasis on study abroad programs, Austin College’s academic calendar features a unique break between semesters built into the regular academic term, called JanTerm. During this time, students are encouraged to study abroad or engage in short internships. This school is notable for encouraging students to create their own major through a Special Program Option, as well as the number of Fulbright Scholars originating from their campus.
  • Juniata College. Students focused on medical school are encouraged to take a glance at Juniata College’s high medical school placement rate, in addition to its unique Program of Emphasis, which allows students to design their own major. This school is an excellent option for students who are re-evaluating their college lists after hearing deferrals from early decision rounds.
  • University of Nebraska. With affordable out-of-state tuition and incredible opportunities for tech internships in the Silicon Prairie of tech start-ups, the University of Nebraska’s rolling admission deadline of May 1 should interest any student seeking a solid STEM major. Programs like the Raikes School of Computer Science and Management pair Honors students with internships and new apartment-style freshman housing, making this university is a must-see for students seeking a Big Ten university experience.
