Steve Stricker sets U.S. Senior Open scoring record in rout

Steve Stricker didn’t go low on Sunday, but he didn’t even have to to set the U.S. Senior Open scoring record.

Stricker built a commanding six-shot lead through three rounds of the U.S. Senior Open at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind., and on Sunday he shot a tidy one-under 69 to finish a record 19-under overall and win by six.

Jerry Kelly and David Toms tied for second at 13 under. Stricker’s 261 topped Kenny Perry’s 264 from Salem Country Club in 2017.
