Steve Lacy Is Now Chronicling All of His Best Looks on This Burner Instagram Account

Although celebrity stylists are par for the course these days, there are still a few renegades who insist on dressing themselves. Lil Uzi Vert falls under this category—his Instagram bio proudly proclaims “No Stylist” in all caps—as does Miley Cyrus, but you might not have known that Steve Lacy also styles himself until he posted his burner Instagram account, @fitvomit, to his main Instagram feed this past weekend. The account’s description reads, “fitting out, not in” with a wonky smiley face emoji thrown in for good measure, and then “styled by Steve.”

Over the past five days, Lacy has uploaded over 140 detail shots of different outfits to the @fitvomit feed. There are plenty you’ve probably seen before, like the Commes des Garçons dress he wore underneath an unconventional suit jacket to the Grammys last month, or the oversize Balenciaga outfit he tried on at the store at the start of last year. Mostly, however, the photos provide an intimate look at pieces from Lacy’s wardrobe that the public hasn’t seen. In one, light reflects off of Lacy’s sequined skirt onto his teddy bear-printed sheets; in another, he shows off a stage look consisting of leather pants, a sequined black leather shirt, and pink and maroon-striped heels, shot at home before the gig. If you were unconvinced before, Lacy’s carefully documented archive proves that he’s one of the most exciting style figures of the moment. Plus, if he ever wants to transition into being a full-time stylist, he now has the perfect portfolio.
