Steph Curry finally cools and Warriors suffer another late loss to the Wizards

The Warriors ran Steph Curry around a simple double screen on an underneath inbound. Washington defended it poorly. Curry curled into a wide-open corner 3 with five minutes left. The Warriors were already up eight. If he hit it, they’d jump up 11 and perhaps put it out of reach. Curry bricked it.

But that wasn’t his final clean look. Curry dragged Kevon Looney 30 feet from the hoop for a high screen twice in the final three minutes. Alex Len, guarding Looney, dropped too far in coverage. Curry stepped into two of the 3s he’s spent the past couple of weeks making at a historic rate.

But this time, in this 118-114 stunner of a road loss to the Wizards, Curry missed both. On the night, he only made two of his 14 attempted 3s. He needed 25 shots for his 18 points.
