Stellantis names leadership team; FCA execs in charge of N.A., finances

Executives from PSA Group make up a majority of the leadership team of Stellantis under CEO Carlos Tavares, though Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ Mike Manley and Mark Stewart will remain in charge of the company’s North American business.

Mark Stewart will remain COO of the North American region under Manley, the former FCA CEO who is now head of the Americas.

FCA CFO Richard Palmer will be Stellantis’ top finance officer.

FCA’s Chief Marketing Officer Olivier Francois will remain in that role for Stellantis, in addition to heading the Fiat and Abarth brands.

Stellantis will have two design chiefs: FCA’s Ralph Gilles for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Maserati, while PSA’s Jean-Pierre Ploue will oversee Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, DS, Lancia, Opel, Peugeot and Vauxhall. The Fiat brand will be split between them by region.

Tim Kuniskis will run Chrysler and Dodge. Mike Koval will continue as head of Ram, and Christian Meunier will remain in charge of Jeep globally. Jean-Philippe Imparato, who was CEO of PSA’s Peugeot brand, is now head of Alfa Romeo.

“As a car veteran working in this industry for 40 years now, I feel very good about this team,” Tavares told Automotive News. “I think we have strong characters, a great deal of talent and expertise, passionate people, people that understand that Stellantis is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

FCA and PSA named the Stellantis board of directors last fall and John Elkann will pivot from FCA chairman to Stellantis chairman.
