DALLAS — The Dallas Stars moved to 3-0-0 for the first time since 2010-11 with a 2-1 overtime victory over the Detroit Red Wings.
1. John Klingberg put on a clinic Tuesday night. There’s no question that Klingberg has been the best defenseman on this team through three games and his play hasn’t been subtle. In overtime, it was a one-man show. First, Klingberg used his stick to make the defensive play on Red Wings defenseman Anthony Mantha as he closed on goaltender Anton Khudobin.
He then turned around to put forth arguably the flashiest play of the young Stars season when he cooked Mantha.
“I felt like I had a lot of ice to gain after we gained the blue line,” Klingberg said. “Obviously, in three-on-three, it’s all puck possession and you have to beat your man one-on-one.
