Soma Games announced that it’s partnering with the film Monster Summer to create a Roblox experience based on the film called Monster Summer: Escape. Within Escape, the players can explore locations from the film, playing minigames and viewing a special in-game trailer. The experience launches on the platform today, ahead of the movie’s premiere on October 4.
The Roblox experience is a co-op adventure for up to four players, in which they explore a spooky house in the woods, go treasure-hunting and play a Whack-a-Rat minigame. They can also listen to the film’s soundtrack in addition to the aforementioned trailer. It’s set in the universe of Monster Summer, the film, an adventure story, which stars Mason Thames, Lorraine Bracco and Mel Gibson.
Dan McDonough and John Blanford, producers of Monster Summer, said in a statement, “The world of Monster Summer is an exciting universe with endless possibilities. We are thrilled to offer our fans a unique way to engage with the story on Roblox. The game will immerse players in the film’s world and extend the adventure beyond the big screen.”
Soma Games has worked within Roblox before, as it recently collaborated with Angel Studios on Adventures in Glipwood, a Roblox experience set in the world of the Wingfeather Saga animated series. It also created several games called Lost Legends of Redwall, based on the Redwall book series.
