Since the first Solheim Cup was played 30 years ago, there have been many moments of celebration.
Throughout 16 different matchups, Team Europe has won six Solheim Cups and Team USA which has won 10 times.
Since the inaugural Solheim Cup in 1990 in which the United States won 11½–4½, the biennial tournament was held on even-numbered years until 2002, when it alternated years with the Ryder Cup. The Solheim Cup switched to odd numbered years beginning in 2003.
