Snoop Dogg hails Donald Trump's 'Harry-O' clemency: 'I love what they did,' 'great work'

Rapper Snoop Dogg had nothing but praise for President Trump Tuesday night after the president commuted the prison sentence of Death Row Records co-founder Michael “Harry O” Harris.

On his last day in office, Mr. Trump granted 73 pardons and 70 commutations, including commuting the sentence of Mr. Harris, who has served 30 years of a 25-year to life sentence for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

“That’s great work for the president and his team on the way out,” Snoop Dogg said after hearing the news, the New York Post reported.

“They did some great work while they was in there and they did some great work on their way out. Let them know that I love what they did,” he added. “It is amazing what the work of God can actually bring to life to make people understand that there is a God.”

Snoop Dogg reportedly made the remarks on a Zoom call with prison reform activists Alice Johnson and Weldon Angelos, who were also pardoned by Mr. Trump during his administration.

Mr. Harris, 59, learned he’d been granted clemency on Tuesday at Federal Correctional Institution Lompoc in California, Mr. Angelos told the Post.

Mr. Angelos said Mr. Harris responded with an email saying, “Thank God. God is great. It feels like the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders.”
