Snoop Dogg celebrates Lakers’ title with new tattoo

Snoop Dogg ranks pretty high when it comes to the Los Angeles Lakers’ considerable roster of A-list superfans, and the iconic rapper celebrated his favorite NBA team’s 17th title with a new tattoo.

Snoop took to social media to show off his new championship-inspired ink. In an Instagram dispatch (viewer discretion advised), he explained what each component of the tattoo meant or represented.

“As you see, the tat is done. ‘KB’ on the bottom, Kobe Bryant. Larry O’Brien championship trophy with the Lakers [logo] going through the ball. Gates of Heaven up top, and it don’t stop. Laker Nation. Thank y’all Lakers, and thank you Mr. Cartoon in a real (expletive) way. We the west and we the best, (expletive) out of here.”

Snoop, who was among the countless Lakers fans who understandably took Kobe Bryant’s death incredibly hard, unsurprisingly made sure his tattoo featured a tribute to the late NBA icon, who perished along with daughter Gianna and seven others in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, Calif., on Jan. 26.

The music business legend/entrepreneur also made note of his go-to tattoo artist, Mr. Cartoon.

Snoop Dogg’s sports fandom is not limited to his longtime devotion to the Lakers — though there have been some bumps in the road in that regard — as he is also a huge NFL and NHL fan as well. That being said, his love for the Lakers comes first, so much so that he gave Bryant his Lakers-themed car as a retirement gift in 2016.

Suffice to say, Snoop Dogg is probably among the happiest sports fans in the world at the moment in the wake of the Lakers’ Finals-clinching Game 6 victory on Sunday.
