KANSAS CITY — Smoked flavors are heating up menus.

Smoked pork is piled high on the Smilin’ Pig, a new sandwich from Quiznos. The sub is loaded with smoked pork loin, bacon and ham topped with red onion, cheddar cheese, pickles and Blue Ribbon barbecue sauce and served on a toasted sub roll.

The new Smoky Campfire Cannolo from Voodoo Doughnut is filled with marshmallow, topped with a smoky chocolate drizzle and dipped in crushed graham crackers.

Smoked salt adds fiery flavor to the Lime Agave Margarita Summerade, a new non-alcoholic beverage from Shake Shack featuring lime juice stirred with agave nectar, orange, jalapeño, smoked salt and cane sugar.

Smoked meats are the stars of Ruby Tuesday’s new Libby’s BBQ menu, which began as a delivery-only concept and features a line of barbecue entrees. The menu includes smoked beef brisket and pulled pork, available as entrees or on a sandwich, and a trio built with smoked brisket, pulled pork and smoked sausage.

Smoked bacon is featured in Buffalo Wings & Rings’ new Buffalo Ringer, made with chicken breast topped with Buffalo hot sauce, applewood-smoked bacon, lettuce and tomato served on a toasted brioche bun with blue cheese dip or ranch dressing.

Applewood-smoked bacon also adds smoky flavor to Perkins’ new Butcher Block Crepes, which are filled with shaved ham, applewood-smoked bacon, sausage and cheddar cheese and are topped with cream gravy and parsley.
