Sheer dread has taken hold of Newcastle’s fanbase

Really? If that is the case, Gary Neville, then why does it feel like the world is collapsing in again and history is repeating itself for the third time inside 12 years under Mike Ashley?

Neville would probably contest that, should you ask any neutral if they would rather be in Newcastle or Fulham’s respective positions, then they would unanimously pick that of the former.

Although third-bottom Fulham have a game in hand and a superior goal difference (-12 to -15), they are seven points behind their 17th-placed relegation rivals, and have only won three games all season to Newcastle’s seven.
