Saturday’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Guaranteed For $1.65 Million At Gulfstream

Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $1.65 Million Saturday at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 12th consecutive racing day Friday, when multiple ticket with all six winners were each worth $2,362.48.

Gulfstream host and analyst Jason Blewitt points out some plays in the Rainbow 6 sequence.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Saturday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 6-11, including an intriguing matchup between Our Country and Unconquered Lea in the Race 10 feature, an optional claiming allowance for 3-year-olds at 1 1/8 miles.

R.A. Hill Stable and Gatsas Stables’ graded stakes-placed Our Country is scheduled to make his second start of the year following a close-up third in his April 1 seasonal debut at Tampa Bay Downs. The George Weaver-trained 3-year-old gelding was beaten by less than a length and finished three-quarters of a length behind runner-up Tabled, a Godolphin LLC homebred who came right back to win next time out.

Our Country finished his 2-year-old campaign with a ninth-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1), in which he finished just 2 ¼ lengths behind victorious Structor. The son of Constitution had previously finished a solid third behind Structor in the Pilgrim (G3) at Belmont Park. Paco Lopez has the call.

Brian Costello’s Unconquered Lea has demonstrated considerable talent on turf in recent starts at Gulfstream, breaking his maiden in his turf debut and third career start Feb. 22 before finished just a half-length behind Gufo, who went on to win the May 2 English Channel Stakes. Emisael Jaramillo is scheduled to ride the son of Lea for the first time Saturday.
