TVG, America’s horse racing network, will feature a loaded card live from Santa Anita on Saturday highlighted by the $400,000 Runhappy Santa Anita Derby (GI), a key prep race on the Road to the Triple Crown. TVG will partner with NBC Sports to bring expanded coverage into the homes of fans across the country from 6:00 -7:30 p.m. ET.
“Trackside Live” will be hosted by Todd Schrupp and will include expert analysis from TVG talent including Simon Bray, Caton Bredar, Gabby Gaudet and Mike Joyce. Britney Eurton and Christina Blacker will be live on track at Santa Anita with exclusive interviews. TVG will also be showcasing racing from Laurel Park, Gulfstream Park, Golden Gate along with opening day from Woodbine and more throughout the day on “Trackside Live”.
The Runhappy Santa Anita Derby (GI) will feature the return of the undefeated Authentic for trainer Bob Baffert. The winner of the San Felipe Stakes (GII) in March is unbeaten from three career starts and will have Drayden Van Dyke aboard.
In addition to the Runhappy Santa Anita Derby (GI), Santa Anita will feature six stakes races scheduled for Saturday including the Hollywood Gold Cup (GI) and the Santa Anita Oaks (GII), a marquee race for three-year-old fillies.
Fans of international horse racing can tune in to TVG on Saturday morning at 8:15 a.m. ET to watch live horse racing from Newmarket Racecourse in Great Britain featuring the prestigious 2,000 Guineas, a classic race for three-year-olds. The contenders include Pinatubo, one of the top juveniles from 2019 who will be trying to extend his undefeated streak to seven for trainer Charlie Appleby. Post time for the 2,000 Guineas is 10:35 a.m. ET.
