The Buffalo Sabres are trading defenseman Brandon Montour to the Florida Panthers. Montour confirmed the deal to The Athletic‘s Pierre LeBrun.
Buffalo will get a third-round pick in exchange for the defenseman, according to multiple media reports. Montour is a pending unrestricted free agent and No. 12 on The Athletic‘s NHL trade deadline big board.
“Fresh start. Super excited to finish off strong!” Montour said via text message.
In 38 games for the Sabres this season, Montour has scored five goals and notched nine assists for a total of 14 points.
