Rylan Clark might have joked about coming across a few snakes in his time – but he’s not faced anything like this before.

The 33-year-old star was reunited with Ruth Langsford on Monday’s episode of This Morning and she brought up the hilarious moment he found a serpent in his living room earlier this month.

The presenter’s terrified reaction in the viral video left fans in stitches, and Ruth had arranged for him to face his fears on the ITV daytime show by bringing out an expert who had an albino reticulated python waiting in the wings.

Although the one on the show was described as quite small, it grows to be the longest species of snake in the world.

‘Oh go away,’ Rylan shouted as the handler brought out the slithery friend. ‘No, what are you doing?! I’ve not been on daytime for years and I’m gonna swear!’

He quipped: ‘I feel like Britney!’

Rylan insisted he didn’t mind having the bigger snake so close, insisting the smaller grass snake he found at home was much scarier – and he even accepted an offer to stroke Saffy the python.

‘The bigger they are the better,’ he joked. ‘It feels quite nice actually!’

He joked the snake was ‘frightened of the teeth’ as she reared it’s head, and he couldn’t resist another cheeky comment when he found out she was female.

‘I’m alright darling,’ he laughed. ‘You’re barking up the wrong tree.’

Earlier in the segment, Ruth admitted she couldn’t help but laugh at Rylan’s reaction to the grass snake in his home, while Rylan was quick to rubbish the idea of joining I’m A Celebrity to face his fears.

He insisted: ‘Absolutely not!’

Rylan was much more relaxed today than he was when he had his unexpected visitor, as he begged his fans to tell him whether the snake will ‘attack’ him, sharing that it ‘went’ at him and he had been searching online whether it was going to ‘kill’ him.

Eventually, the snake moved away from Rylan’s doors, as he quipped: ‘If I’m not here tomorrow, then thank you, Jesus, for everything’.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
