Ryan Kerrigan breaks Washington’s all-time sack record

Chase Young and Montez Sweat may be ushering a new era of pass rushers for the Washington Football Team, but Ryan Kerrigan is still a cornerstone. With two sacks Kerrigan surpasses Dexter Manley to become the all-time sack leader in franchise history.

Kerrigan’s record-setting sack came in the fourth quarter and was the seventh of eight sacks on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.

Kerrigan also recovered a fumble in the fourth quarter.

Entering his final year under contract and uncertainty about his future, Kerrigan has vowed he wants to remain with Washington. His leadership could be impeccable to the development of Young and Sweat. Not to mention, he has shown his ability to contribute to Washington’s success.
