Roger Federer vs Dan Evans live stream: How to watch US Open match online and on TV

As with his first-round match, Roger Federer had to once again come from a set down to earn a place in the third round.

The Swiss star went behind against Damir Dzumhur but dominated the rest of the match to win 3-6 6-2 6-3 6-4.

“I don’t think there is a secret to a good start other than warming up well, being well prepared mentally and not underestimating your opponent. I did all of that,” said Federer.

“So when it happens in back-to-back matches it’s a bit frustrating more than anything, especially when the level is that low and there are that many errors and the energy is not kind of there.

“But I’m not concerned because once I lose that first set I do get better, which is a good thing.”

Dan Evans, meanwhile, got the better of France’s Lucas Pouille to set up the clash with the 20-time Grand Slam champion.

The British No 2 has met Federer twice before, losing on both occasions.

“I have to think I can beat him otherwise there is no point going on court,” Evans said.

“I think I have got over ‘it’s Roger and he’s impossible to beat’.

“I have more belief going on to court.”
