Roger Federer drops fresh retirement hint following third knee surgery

Offering an update on his recovery process at the tournament he co-created, Federer said he finally felt he was over “the worst” but would still need several months before he could attempt to mount a comeback.

“When, like any athlete, you will just know [to retire] when the time is right,” he said, in a new interview with GQ.

“I am not going to be the one that’s just going to stick around because I want to stick around.”
