Report: Nets shopping injured Spencer Dinwiddie ahead of trade deadline

Even though they acquired James Harden from the Houston Rockets earlier this season, the Brooklyn Nets likely aren’t done making moves ahead of the March trade deadline.

According to ESPN’s Marc Spears, the Nets are looking to trade Spencer Dinwiddie in hopes of upgrading in other areas.

After trading Jarrett Allen in the Harden deal, the Nets could use a big man. It was reported last month that Brooklyn is interested in Kevin Love and JaVale McGee, and it’s no surprise given the only center on the roster is DeAndre Jordan. It’s unclear if Dinwiddie would be used in a deal to acquire either of those players.

Dinwiddie was ruled out for the remainder of the 2020-21 season after partially tearing his ACL against the Charlotte Hornets in Brooklyn’s third game of the season.

However, the 27-year-old had a career season during the 2019-20 campaign, averaging a career-high 20.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game while shooting 41.5% from the field and 30.8% from deep.
