Redskins start season with maybe the toughest part of their schedule


The Redskins will kick off the 2019 season in Philadelphia and host the Super Bowl champion Patriots in Week 5, the NFL announced Wednesday night. How does the rest of the Skins’ schedule shape up? Let’s take a closer look.

Week 1: Sept. 8, at Eagles, 1 p.m., FOX

The Redskins beat the lowly Cardinals on the road in the season opener a year ago, handing Coach Jay Gruden the first Week 1 victory of his five-year tenure. The schedule makers, however, weren’t as kind this time around. Gruden and the Redskins will hit the road to face an Eagles’ team that went 9-7 and qualified for the playoffs last season and won the Super Bowl the year before.
