Real Madrid have called a press conference for Thursday, in which they will say farewell to captain Sergio Ramos.

The Spanish giants have confirmed that Ramos will be leaving the club after 15 years at the Bernabeu. 

Ramos has been at a contract impasse with Madrid for months, though was expected to secure new terms in the Spanish capital.

Now, the club have issued a short statement confirming the 35-year-old will move on. Madrid wrote: ‘Real Madrid CF announces that tomorrow, Thursday, June 17, at 12:30 pm, there will be an institutional act of tribute and farewell to our captain Sergio Ramos.’

President Florentino Pérez will also be present, in what is expected to be a presentation and reflection on Ramos’ time with the club.
