Megan Rapinoe was in a pretty decent mood on Friday night after the U.S. national team completed its two matches against Colombia to start the new year with a 6-0 win. There was a lot to appreciate about the team’s performance over the week, and Rapinoe, who is always effusive in her praise of her teammates, had plenty of it lined up.

The USWNT isn’t quite in form yet, but they’re looking perfectly on track for a major tournament despite losing most of last year to the pandemic. Mostly, the question around this team is: how on earth will head coach Vlatko Andonovski whittle this roster down to 18?
