The Texas Rangers are hiring former pitcher Chris Young as their general manager, sources told The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal and Levi Weaver on Friday.
Jon Daniels will remain with the team as president of baseball operations, sources said.
Young, who pitched for the team from 2004-05 spent the last few years as a league executive. He pulled his name from consideration for the Mets’ GM job earlier this week due a preference to stay near his Dallas home.
