Rafael Nadal wife: Meet Xisca Perello – the beautiful brunette who will marry tennis star

In what is sure to be a star-studded wedding, Rafael Nadal will marry his childhood sweetheart Xisca Perello in Majorca today. Juan Carlos I, King of Spain until his abdication in 2014, is expected to feature on the guest list, along with a number of other famous faces.

The pair will be marrying at La Fortaleza, an enormous estate which has been described as Spain’s most expensive property.

The venue was the setting of BBC spy thriller The Night Manager, starring Hugh Laurie, and was also the setting of Real Madrid star Gareth Bale’s wedding earlier this year.

Tomeu Catala, who has been named as the priest marrying Rafael and Xisca this weekend, told island paper Diario de Mallorca earlier this month: “Everyone of the weddings I have been involved in has been special and this one will be the same.

“I am just going to marry two people who love each other.”

Who is Xisca Perello?

Xisca Perello, real name Maria Francisca Perello, has been dating Rafael Nadal for 14 years.

However, before the pair started dating in 2005, it is though they had known each other for a few years beforehand.

Xisca, 31, is a business graduate and she gave up her job in insurance to take her place as a director of the Rafa Nadal Foundation.

In a rare interview, Xisca told the Telegraph in 2011: “Rafael needs his space when he is competing, and just the idea of me hanging around and waiting on his needs all day tires me out.”

She added: “It would asphyxiate me. And then he would have to be worrying about me… No.

“If I followed him everywhere, I think there’s a risk we might stop getting along.”

But the brunette beauty is clearly head-over-heels for her hunky husband-to-be and cannot wait for their big day.

Rafael and Xisca do not have any children, but Rafael has previously expressed that he loves the idea of becoming a father.

He told Argentine talk show Con Amigos Asi: “I would love to have children: boys, girls… I’m a person who loves kids and I’m a family guy.

“But also I tell you that the reality is, the years keep passing, I would like to start to do all of this when my sporting life determines it.”

He added: “I think it’s also above all about looking after the kids.

“I don’t know if it [travelling throughout the year when you have children] is ideal.”
