Rafael Nadal schedule: Where US Open champion is playing at the end of 2019

Rafael Nadal did not play in the final day of the Laver Cup last weekend but does not plan to change his schedule for the rest of the year.

Nadal missed the final day, which saw Team Europe claim victory, due inflammation in his hand.

But the Spaniard is still expecting to be able to play in the Shanghai Masters as he looks to end 2019 on a high.

Following the Laver Cup, Nadal said: “On my end of the year, I really believe and hope that this problem will not change my personal calendars or my personal goals.

“I think I need some rest. I’ll take some days off with the family and friends.”

Nadal, who won two Grand Slam titles this year, is set to play the Paris Masters after Shanghai.

He will then join the likes of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic at London’s O2 Arena for the ATP Finals.

Nadal could end his season with his Spanish team-mates at the new Davis Cup finals towards the end of November.

The Spaniard also has his wedding at the back-end of this year as he will marry Xisca Perello in Puerto Pollensa on October 19.

Nadal has been injury plagued over the last few years but he is hoping to end 2019 with a bang.

The US Open champion is on course to snatch the year-end world No 1 ranking from Djokovic, who beat him at the Australian Open final this year.

Rafael Nadal schedule

Shanghai Masters: October 5-13

Paris Masters: October 26-November 3 (All seeds receive a bye into the second round)

Davis Cup Finals: November 18-24
