Rafael Nadal arrives at Paris Masters as Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev embrace

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have arrived in Paris to begin preparations for the final Masters 1000 event of the year.

The tournament gets underway on Monday with plenty at stake as players look to book their places at the ATP Finals.

Nadal and Djokovic have already sealed their spots at the O2 Arena but will be aiming to get matches under their belts before heading to London.

On Thursday, the two men were together in Kazakhstan for a charity match which was won by Nadal 6-3 3-6 (11-9).

But 24 hours later, they are in France practising for the Masters event.

Nadal was captured training with his coach Carlos Moya and physio Rafael Maymo.

Meanwhile, Djokovic was spotted with his coach Goran Ivanisevic as he worked on his game.

And the world No 1 also shared an embrace with Alexander Zverev, who suffered an early exit at the Swiss Indoors this week.

“I was completely flat for some reason,” Zverev said after losing to Taylor Fritz in the first round.

“I was tired and not focused at all. It was a weird feeling.

“The way I played today, in my current mental stage, I’m not going to beat anybody.

“I’m very disappointed but it’s more about myself than the result.

“Normally I really enjoy it on court, the tough moments, the fighting but today I was completely out of it.”

Zverev is seventh in the Race to London standings and is far from certain to reach the ATP Finals.

The German beat Roger Federer in the semi-finals and Djokovic in the final to win the tournament last year.
