Q&A: Jalen Hurts is chasing Kerwin Bell, the ‘best’ QB in NFL history


In Week 5, Jalen Hurts completed the first pass of his NFL career — an 18-yarder to Richard Rodgers on what was also his first career attempt. In Week 8, he made it 2-for-2 with a 9-yard completion to Travis Fulgham. In Week 11, he completed a 6-yard pass to Alshon Jeffery.

His perfect completion percentage has not yet compelled the Eagles to elevate Hurts to starter even though there’s a chance, however small, that we are being slowly introduced to the best quarterback in NFL history.

The record for most completions in a season without an incompletion is five, shared by three quarterbacks:

Bill Donckers, who went 5-for-5 for 38 yards with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1977. Donckers is also tied with Julian Edelman for the most career passes without an incompletion (six).

Ryan Nassib, who went 5-for-5 for 68 yards and a touchdown with the New York Giants in 2015. Nassib finished his career 9-for-10 with a 152.1 quarterback…
