Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in Indiana has plans to build a new teaching hospital and may break ground in early 2020. The planned $108 million facility recently received $73 million in support from the Indiana General Assembly; the university will contribute $35 million. Once the Purdue board of trustees approves the construction, ground could be broken as early as 2020.
The new facility will replace both the equine and farm animal hospitals, as well as expand the small animal hospital. In addition to offering primary care, oncology, cardiology and rehabilitation, the hospital hopes to offer state-of-the-art digital technology. These improvements will allow Purdue to offer their vet students an improved learning environment.
