Penn State starting DT PJ Mustipher out for year

Penn State head coach James Franklin said Wednesday night that defensive tackle PJ Mustipher is out for the season.

Mustipher left the Nittany Lions’ game Saturday against Iowa on the Hawkeyes’ first offensive drive and didn’t return. The senior has 21 tackles this season, including three for loss.

He was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection as a junior and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors. Mustipher has 107 tackles, including 10 for loss and three sacks, during his Penn State career.

Penn State suffered its first loss of the season Saturday in a 23-20 decision to the Hawkeyes. The Nittany Lions are off this week.
