Patrick Mahomes’ struggles continue in Chiefs’ 27-0 halftime deficit to Titans

Nothing is going right for the Chiefs on Sunday afternoon in Tennessee. They face a 27-0 halftime deficit on the road, their superstar quarterback hasn’t found any rhythm and the team leads the league with 16 turnovers.

Kansas City’s struggles have continued in Week 7. At the half, Mahomes was just 5 of 9 with 41 yards, an interception and a fumble, putting him at nine picks for the season. He threw just six interceptions in all of 2020. It’s also Mahomes’ second game this season with an interception and a fumble. He had two games in the entire 2020 season with an interception and a fumble.

Chiefs running back Darrel Williams has tallied only 17 yards on four carries, and no receiver has more than 11 yards receiving. Meanwhile, the Chiefs defense hasn’t been able to slow down Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who is 16 of 20 at the break with 216 yards and one score thrown the air and another on the ground. Star running back Derrick Henry is on pace for another 100-yard rushing game, with 17 carries for 52 yards.

The Chiefs, at just 3-3 on the season, have been out-gained 277 yards to 67, while the Titans (4-2) are coming off a win over the Bills on Monday night. The Chiefs have not beaten a team with a winning record this season.
