Sports fans and collectors have been mad for non-fungible tokens for a few months, spending hundreds of millions of dollars on what amounts to a digital image or video clip.
So, it was probably inevitable that the craze would get spoofed.
First, Saturday Night Live did an NFT skit. Now, there’s NBA Low Shot.
The brainchild of a couple of Brooklyn-based advertising executives, NBA Low Shot is a parody of NBA Top Shot, the league- and union-licensed platform that sells NFTs of highlight clips and has generated more than half a billion dollars in sales over the past couple of months.
NBA Low Shots are gifs (not NFTs) of just that, lowlights.
