Ovechkin, Holtby help Jimmy Fallon do Stanley Cup keg stand

Alex Ovechkin and Braden Holtby took the Stanley Cup from Washington to New York to keep the party going on the set of “The Tonight Show.”

After a quick interview, the Washington Capitals stars helped Jimmy Fallon recreate the now-famous video of Ovechkin doing a keg stand out of the Cup in Georgetown.

Fans can watch the entire segment here:

They were joined mid-segment by Mike Smith, the 52-year-old jockey who rode Justify and won horse racing’s Triple Crown this year.

The four men began to drink out of the Cup through straws before Fallon stopped and said it was taking too long. “I think you know what you gotta do,” he told the Capitals, who then hoisted him upside-down.

It wasn’t expressly stated that the group was drinking something alcoholic, but it wouldn’t have been a surprise. The Capitals have been seen running all around Washington partying with the Cup, particularly last Saturday.

Ovechkin and Holtby had to leave New York shortly after taping the segment and return to Washington for Tuesday’s Stanley Cup parade.
