We’ve all been mid-recipe only to realize we’re missing an ingredient. And if texting your neighbor for backup fails, you’ll want to see if you can whip up a substitute. If it’s heavy cream you’re missing, you’re in luck. There’s a simple culinary substitution to ensure that your dish will still turn out.

How to Substitute Heavy Cream
To substitute 1 cup of heavy cream, mix 3/4 cup of milk and 1/3 cup of melted and cooled butter.
