OHIO Business Service Center 2024 Annual Report – Ohio University


Hi, and welcome to our second annual report. We have seen great things happen this year, and I’m excited to share some of them with you.

We have been fortunate to welcome many new partners this year and love that we can hopefully make your work just a little easier. After two years of being the executive director, I am also happy to report that we have some excellent metrics to share–things like a reduction in internal audit findings, the retirement of legacy systems that reduced redundancies, creation of additional efficiencies and cost avoidance, and saving on average 2.7 days on purchases when folks use our new technology. 

I am also incredibly proud that while improving processes and efficiencies, our overall customer satisfaction is 96%.  That is a testament to our amazing, amazing staff who exemplify the service mentality. They are working every day to make things better for faculty, staff, and students at Ohio University.

Before you get to the report, I wanted to highlight just a couple of things I am especially proud about. First of all, we started to collect video testimonials from faculty and staff who use our services, and have over 20, I think, so far.  These short videos are located on our website (ohio.edu/bsc), and I hope you will take a few minutes to review them.

We were also honored this fall by CACUBO (Central Association of College and University Business Officers) to receive one of their awards for Best Practices in higher education. 

I believe both of these things illustrate the sound work we are doing in the OHIO BSC–putting customers first and still becoming more efficient and adept at handling the business end that is still critical for OU’s success.
