NutriScience Innovations achieves Non-GMO Project verification

TRUMBULL, CONN. — NutriScience Innovations, L.L.C. announced that its beta-glucan ingredient BGF-Immune is now Non-GMO Project verified (N.G.P.V.).

“N.G.P.V. is becoming more and more important to consumers around the world,” said Ryan Pallathra, director of business development at NutriScience Innovations. “Offering Non-G.M.O. ingredients allows our customers to create ‘clean’ formulations and helps those looking to obtain N.G.P.V. status for their finished products do so more easily, by reducing some of work for them.”

BFG-Immune is a high purity, clinically studied, 1,3, beta-glucan ingredient for immune support. It is developed via fermentation and offers more beta-glucan content than ingredients derived from other sources such as yeast, mushroom, oat and barley. It can act as a stabilizer, fat replacer, viscosity modifier and thickener in food and beverage applications. It is solvent-free, kosher and halal.

The Non-GMO Project said its verification label represents upwards of $26 billion in annual sales and more than 50,000 products for over 3,000 brands. In addition to providing third party, independent non-G.M.O. certification, the non-profit also advocates for greater G.M.O. transparency, conducts ongoing research and technical oversight for the G.M.O. landscape.
