Now Highest-Rated Horse In Britain, Enable Bounced Out Of Yorkshire Oaks In Great Form

Enable was given a Racing Post Rating of 128, equal to her top form as a 3-year-old, following this week’s victory in the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks over rival Magical, according to racingpost.com. The superstar mare, unbeaten in her last 12 starts and a winner of five straight G1’s, bested Crystal Ocean in last month’s King George Stakes at Ascot, but was rated below him in the most recent World’s Best Racehorse Rankings when her male rival was given a 127 rating.

The 4-year-old Nathaniel mare, trained by John Gosden and ridden by Frankie Dettori, is being aimed at an unprecedented third win in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. The only other horse to attempt the treble was Treve, but in her third start in the prestigious contest she could only manage fourth.

Enable bounced out of the Yorkshire Oaks in great form, according to Gosden, and is on target for the Arc.

“We are pleased with the way she has come out of the Yorkshire Oaks, so much so she was annoyed not to be going out with the rest of the team at Clarehaven at 5.30am,” the trainer said. “As usual after a race, she had a lead-out and a pick of grass, but she clearly wanted to take her slot among the members of the team who were going out on to the Heath. She’ll have three or four easy days and then when she wants to be ridden we’ll follow her instructions.”
