Novak Djokovic keeps Serbia alive in Davis Cup semi-final with crucial victory v Cilic

“Of course they have the best doubles pairing in the world, Mektic, Pavic. They are winning most of the matches they are playing. We saw some of the matches in Davis Cup they have played so far, and they are winning comfortably,” Djokovic said.

The winners of this semi-final tie will face the winners of Saturday’s semi-final between the Russian Tennis Federation and Sweden.

With two top-five players as their two singles players, in Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev, the Russian Tennis Federation are the favourites to make it to the final.

Should Serbia meet them in the championship tie, it would be a fourth meeting between the world No 1 and 2 players Djokovic and Medvedev this year.
