Novak Djokovic coach reveals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer Grand Slam concern

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will add to their Grand Slam tallies, according to Goran Ivanisevic.

Nadal took his major tournament count up to 19 – one behind Federer’s record – after winning the US Open.

It was a bitter blow for Djokovic who has three fewer Grand Slam titles than Nadal.

All three stars are in the latter stages of their careers but Ivanisevic feels the leading pair will keep up their dominance at the biggest events of them all.

“Rafa will definitely win a few more French Opens and will go over 20 for sure,” Ivanisevic told the Telegraph.

“Novak will go over 20. Roger, you can’t under-estimate. He’ll still be thinking about Wimbledon, when people were already saying he had 21.

“That hurts, but Roger will hope for one more for sure.”

Despite Nadal and Federer enjoying more silverware than Djokovic, Ivanisevic still feels the world No 1 competes at a higher level.

He added: “For me, let’s put it this way, if they are all playing their best in 10 matches, I would say at least eight matches Novak wins.

“He’s the most complete player of the three.”

Meanwhile, Ivanisevic also spoke of his pride at getting to coach one of the best players of all time.

“You cannot have a bigger privilege and honour than coaching Novak,” Ivanisevic said.

“He listens, he talks. He asks, which is a quality sometimes people don’t have. Some of the other people I’ve coached for instance.

“What’s also surprised me is how strong he is mentally, how serious he is in practice every single day. It’s unbelievable.

“It’s a pleasure to be there, and makes my life as a coach very easy.”
