We now know which players will be representing their respective teams in Las Vegas at the 2022 NHL All-Star Game next month.
The league unveiled the full rosters for this year’s All-Star event on Thursday evening, announcing the captains for each division team, the players who were selected via fan vote, and the Last Man In candidates.
The four division captains consist of Auston Matthews representing the Atlantic Division, Connor McDavid representing the Pacific, Alexander Ovechkin representing the Metropolitan, and Nathan MacKinnon representing the Central.
With 40 players being announced as All-Star selections tonight, fans will now have a chance to vote for their favorite team’s “Last Man In” candidate, with all 32 clubs nominating one player to be their division’s final representative. Voting for the “Last Man In” runs until Jan. 17.
There are a number of notable first-time All-Stars taking part at this year’s event, with Toronto’s Jack Campbell making his first appearance in the game a full 11 years after being drafted, along with Nashville’s Jusse Saros, New York’s Adam Pelech, New Jersey’s Jack Hughes, and Ottawa’s Drake Batherson, among others.
The 2022 NHL All-Star Game will take place from Feb.4-5.
