NFL Power Rankings: Ravens keep rolling in Week 2; NFC South opens up as Panthers, Saints plummet


We’ll go ahead and call this overreaction week at The Athletic’s Power Rankings, but how could it not be with two more significant quarterback injuries (to Ben Roethlisberger and Drew Brees)? While Week 1 brought us some movement, Week 2 brought significant climbs and falls, none bigger than the Niners’ nine-spot climb after a successful week-long stay in Ohio and the Lions’ nine-spot climb after a surprising victory against the Chargers. Meanwhile, the NFC South looks more open than ever as the Saints fell out of the top 10 after Drew Brees’ injury and Cam Newton’s Panthers fell eight spots after a Thursday Night Football flub.
