NFL Draft Evaluation: Should the Redskins draft cornerback Greedy Williams at 15?


With the NFL Draft less than a week away, we’re taking a closer look at some of the prospects the Redskins could look to draft in the first round. Up next is LSU cornerback Greedy Williams. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound corner has a rare combination of size, length and athleticism that teams covet in the modern NFL at the position. Williams does an excellent job using his length and athleticism to show receivers to the sideline, eliminating the throwing window for the quarterback.

Here, Williams is up against D.K. Metcalf on a go route down the sideline. Metcalf aligns inside the numbers while Williams walks up to the line of scrimmage in press coverage. Off the snap, Williams shows patience at the line of scrimmage in part because he knows he has the athletic ability to recover if he needs to.
