Golden Arrows have moved swiftly to appoint a new head coach with Mandla Ncikazi on Thursday announced to be taking over the reins after the sudden resignation of Steve Komphela.

Ncikazi has been a long-time servant of the club having served in his role of assistant coach since 2015.

Having occupied a similar role at Maritzburg United the 51-year old has worked alongside various coaches such as Manqoba Mngqithi, Muhsin Ertugral and Ernst Middendorp.

Komphela resigned as head coach of the club to take up an assistant coaching role at defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns under joint-head coaches Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mngqithi.
