The New York Times has issued a shocking editorial note, undermining what was meant to be a bombshell article detailing new allegations of sexual assault against Supreme Court judge, Brett Kavanaugh.
Just hours after a number of Democratic presidential hopefuls cited the piece as a reason to impeach Kavanaugh, the Times was forced to admit that the alleged victim was actually unable to recall the incident at all.
The note reads as follows:
“An earlier version of this article, which was adapted from a forthcoming book, did not include one element of the book’s account regarding an assertion by a Yale classmate that friends of Brett Kavanaugh pushed his penis into the hand of a female student at a drunken dorm party. The book reports that the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article.”
The casual nature of the correction, which effectively admitted that the allegations were baseless, was met with furor online. Indeed, shockingly, the only reason that the New York Times chose to publish the correction was because an author, Mollie Hemmingway, read an advance copy of the book that contained details of the allegations and tweeted her dismay at the fact that the alleged victim said she couldn’t recall it. The book was written by New York Times journalists Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly and titled, “The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation.”
“They made it sound like they had a credible story about a woman and they hid the fact that the woman denied it ever happened,” Hemmingway explained on Twitter.
“They claimed it was a new allegation. It turns out it’s not new, and it’s not even an allegation, and that what they put in the New York Times story, they didn’t mention that the alleged victim herself said she has no recollection of this incident,” the author added to The Federalist. “That is journalistic malpractice.”

Additionally, the book revealed that Leland Keyser, a high school friend of Christine Blasey Ford, doubted the credibility of Ford’s allegation which almost brought down Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court – namely, that she had been sexually assaulted by the judge in the 1980s. “I don’t have any confidence in the story,” Keyser told the journalists.
The whole situation has greatly undermined theNew York Times’credibility. Over the past few years, the paper has been seen as becoming increasingly bias to the left.

President Trump also spoke out against the New York Times. He wrote, “The New York Times is at its lowest point in its long and storied history. Not only is it losing a lot of money, but it is a journalistic disaster, being laughed at even in the most liberal of enclaves. It has become a very sad joke all all over the World. Witch Hunt hurt them…”

Hemingway herself, however, assured that the deep-rooted anti-republican media bias goes well beyond just the New York Times.
“Even though media outlets are giving lip service of disappointment in the New York Times failed smear attempt on Kavanaugh, they are running with the next phase of the operation – story after story suggesting impeachment is in any way legitimate,” Hemingway explained. “The corruption is industry-wide.”
