The NBA season is just a few weeks old, yet JJ Redick’s tenure as the Los Angeles Lakers head coach has already been a roller-coaster ride.
The Lakers started the year red-hot. They went 3-0 through three home games, making Redick look like a genius hire. But the team looked mediocre in the five-game road trip that followed, which was capped off by a 131-114 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Redick singled out LeBron James as the lone bright spot in the loss against the Grizzlies. The neophyte coach then chastised the rest of the roster for its lack of effort.
Following Redick’s fiery words for his team, ESPN’s Shams Charania shared some insight on how the 40-year-old coach has “resonated” within the locker room thus far.
