Nets face importance of elusive energy, rhythm after loss to Bucks forces Game 7


Toward the end of the first quarter of the Nets’ 104-89 loss to the Bucks in Game 6, James Harden stole the ball from Giannis Antetokounmpo and had nothing but open court in front of him. He elected not to take it.

Instead, Harden brought the ball up slowly and waited for the Nets offense to get set instead of trying to get an open layup. Harden eventually found Blake Griffin for a 3, but it was a reminder of the compromises he and the Nets have to take in a pivotal playoff game to have their star point guard on the floor due to a recent bout of hamstring tightness.

“James was better tonight as far as what he was able to do,” Nets coach Steve Nash said. “But you know, it’s tough. He’s really limited, and he can’t do a lot of things that he’s accustomed to doing.
