The wait for something, anything, prevalent for the Pistons is coming to an end.

The NBA Draft is Nov. 18 and training camp for the 2020-21 season may start as soon as Dec. 1. With that in mind, Pistons general manager Troy Weaver publicly spoke to the media Thursday for the first time since his June hiring. Weaver touched on many topics, including the draft, Christian Wood’s free agency and the possibility of adding more assets.

Here are Weaver’s more interesting answers to some of the reporters’ questions, followed by my thoughts on each topic.

There are not a lot of guys who embrace Detroit. … When you see a young guy like LaMelo Ball, who was training in Detroit and working out in Detroit, I know you can’t talk about your plans at No. 7, but does that add any intrigue at all? Have you interviewed him?
