'NBA 2K20' honors Kobe Bryant in latest update

The entire world is still attempting to handle the devastating news from Los Angeles this past Sunday that Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, were among the nine to pass away after a helicopter accident.

This tragic news has created a wide range of emotions from the sports world, football and basketball alike.

The 41-year-old Bryant and his teenage daughter were not supposed to see their lives end in this manner and this early. It was too soon.

It now looks like the video game community is also paying its respects. “NBA 2K20” has included a tribute to Bryant in the latest update of its game.

“Along with the rest of the world, we are shocked and devastated by the sudden passing of Kobe Bryant,” a representative for publisher 2K Games told The Hollywood Reporter. “He has been an inspiration on and off the court to us all, and a valued partner to 2K for many years. We’re inspired and heartened by the ways the 2K player community are rallying together and honoring Kobe — including parades, custom jerseys, intentional 24 second shot clock violations, and dedicated streams.”

The update includes a photo of Bryant with the dates of his life. It’s a great way to pay homage to one of the best to ever take to the hardwood.

The official NBA 2K20 Twitter account also paid its respects to Bryant in its most-recent post.
