A big provider of national security tech is expanding into San Antonio.

Research Innovations Inc., based just outside of Washington, D.C., has opened an office at Callahan Road and I-10, according to a news release from the company on Tuesday, October 12.

The more than 10,000-square-foot office features collaborative and open works spaces, large conference rooms, and state-of-the-art computing facilities. The company says an office in San Antonio allows RII to recruit from local universities and provides access diverse talent.

“The decision to expand RII’s presence into the San Antonio area was a necessary step in the company’s strategic growth plan,” says founder and CTO Rich Briggs in the news release.

RII experienced exponential growth throughout 2020 and 2021 despite the pandemic. It was awarded numerous new contracts and hired 130 new employees.

It’s not clear how many job opportunities RII is bringing to the city. MySA reached out for comment.
