Mohamed Salah: Sadio Mane to face Liverpool team-mate in final stage of World Cup qualification

Liverpool pair Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have been drawn against each other in the final round of CAF World Cup qualification.

Salah will captain Egypt against Mane’s Senegal in a two-legged tie, with only the winner progressing to the World Cup finals in Qatar this winter. The losing side will not feature at the tournament.

These fixtures will take place in the March international window. The two teams have not met since 2014.

The play-off draw was made in Douala, Cameroon, where the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is currently taking place.

Both Senegal and Egypt have qualified for the round of 16, and play their next fixtures on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

Egypt’s qualification for the 2018 World Cup was the first time they had made the finals since 1990, while Senegal have only reached the competition twice in their history.

What are the other ties?
